The University of Lahore, Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IMBB), established in 2004, has a rich history of excellence for the curricula delivery and undertaking of advanced research. Our vision is to provide great interactive teaching and learning approaches to emulate the international standards as well as lay a strong emphasis on students’ ambitions, achievements and personal development. The IMBB covers many undergraduate and graduate degree programmes in diverse fields of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology and Physiology. The IMBB faculty is embarked upon with considerable commitment of professionalism and dedication to deliver the internationally compatible curricula and advanced research tools so as foster well the students for consistent learning and the capability to lead the life. The Centre of Research in Molecular Medicine (CRiMM) as an adjunct of IMBB serves as a research arm to our MPhil/PhD students and faculty members. The goal of research programs undertaken by the IMBB/CRiMM is to reinforce complementary expertise and recent developments in life sciences. The University management is concerned and organized to substantially support research activities through financial assistance. The Institute collaborates with several national and international institutions. Conferences, workshops and seminars on various vital themes are frequently organized for the improvement of quality of research and learning. I am fully confident that our faculty will work hard to realize the mission and objectives of this institute and fore see a bright future for the prospective students. I am also of firm conviction that they will be an asset for the prosperity of the country.
